homestead: Reverie & Revival.

homestead: Reverie + Revival. is a 6-piece ethnobotanic vinyl collection, months in the making, that connects humanity to the plant kingdom through sound, chroma, and story. each vinyl sleeve is made of paper from my Planta charta collection, created from leaves of Native plant species, and will serve as the base for a preserved plant specimen and monograph.

in this collection, vinyl records act as tangible plant studies, adding to the richness of ethnobotanical stories, where plants not only contribute to cultural practices but also form sonic Landscapes. through meticulously curated music and botanical preservation techniques, i explore the intricate relationship between sound, plants and the cultures that nurture them.

vinyl, a medium revered for its organic imperfections, becomes a metaphor for the impermanent beauty found in the Landscape. the rhythm of each track mirrors the pulsating life force within the flora, inviting listeners to embark on a sensual, sensorial journey that challenges purpose and place.

from Indigenous ritual to contemporary expression, the collection celebrates the ways in which plants have shaped human existence. homestead echoes the harmony of ecosystems, the wisdom embedded in traditional knowledge, and the urgency of activism.

the immersive experiences not only captivate the senses but also prompt contemplation on our relationship with the natural world. as the needle gracefully traverses the grooves, listeners find themselves deep in the melody of our shared heritage, fostering a profound appreciation for the delicacies between land and people.

in this timeless dance between culture and habitat, i invite you to embrace the heartfelt and view land as an archival medium, welcoming plants as your Reverie + Revival.
